Abstract

The geometry of the silo groups of interest is shown in Fig. 2.1. They may have a thick slab (or conical hoppers with ring beams) at the bottom, and a slab, possibly on beams, at the top. Due to the thick slab close to the foundation, we will assume the cylindrical shell clamped at the bottom slab.
