Abstract

The second part of the book focuses on Simmel’s final book The View of Life. That book is made-up of four essays. This particular chapter focuses upon the first of those essays. It looks at the account of life that Simmel offers and the relations between life and boundaries. This chapter explores the vision of pulsating life that Simmel offers and how this is placed in tension with the boundaries it faces.
