Abstract
Idiopathic chondrolysis of the hip is a rare condition without known antecedent cause, in which there is rapid destruction of articular cartilage, followed by varying degrees of regeneration or remodeling. In the early stage, the differential diagnosis includes especially tuberculous arthritis and seronegative spondylo-arthropathy. Our MRI-based classification with clinical correlations is presented, as are our surgical rationale, protocol and post-operative care regime.
