Abstract

Centrifugal pumps are one of the most important components in power plants. They are also widely used in industry. This chapter presents the different types of pump components (dynamic and static centrifugal pumps) and gives a detailed description of the physical equations for each of them: modeling assumptions and fundamental equations. A test-case is given for each model that includes the structure of the model, parameterization data and results of simulation. The full description of the physical equations is independent of the programming languages and tools.
