Abstract
Building on previous chapters, this chapter is meant to serve as a research guide by providing some basic tools for evaluating, designing, and implementing research on gameful L2TL. The first section offers guiding questions for evaluating research and discussion of the various parameters of gameful L2TL research. The second section discusses how to design research taking a practice-focused approach. Finally, as an example of implementing research, the third section describes a pilot project that examined the relationships between English vocabulary learning and game involvement in an interactive fiction game.
