Abstract
This chapter summarizes the final destinations and ultimate fates of the sled dogs who returned from Antarctica as part of the Norwegian Antarctic Expedition and analyzes the reasoning exhibited by Amundsen in making the decisions that led to their final outcomes. The dogs documented here include those dogs given to Douglas Mawson’s Australasian Antarctic Expedition for a return tour to Antarctica on the Aurora and the remaining dogs who traveled on to Buenos Aires on the Fram. The dogs’ names and identities are given, and their final locations and activities are chronicled.
