Abstract
This chapter provides trade performance of CFGT in Asia. Average growth rate of CFGT in Asia was around 8% in the period of 2002–2017. It also highlights more on trade of sub-categories in the pre- and post-global financial crisis. Japan was the top exporter of wind energy and solar photovoltaic system in the pre-global crisis period; China emerged and replaced Japan in the post-global crisis era. Export share of SPVS in China increased over time during 2002–2008 and reached at 2nd position in Asia in 2009. Truly, exports of EEL and SPVS were concentrated in East Asia region since the beginning of the twenty-first century. Most of countries in Asia were CFGT importers from countries within Asia, the European Union, and the USA and Canada. Ten major developing economies of Asia had import shares above the world average, which indicate that Asia has emerged as powerhouse of the world.
