Abstract
This chapter describes data which is used in this study. It discusses methodologies that are applied in this study. Several trade indices are defined with their properties.

Limitations: The index may be affected by many factors, including geographical ones. Because it is based on relative shares, a strong regional orientation may be of little economic significance.

Per capita income is the proxy of level of economic development (Markusen 2013).
- 3.
In original version of Tinbergen (1962), the model is expressed in a log-log form. So the parameters are elasticity of the trade flow with respect to the explanatory variables.
