Abstract
The right to property, provided and protected by section 1 of the First Protocol to the European Convention on Human Rights, guarantees the peaceful enjoyment of possessions in the territory of those states party to the European Convention. Nevertheless, this section also includes the possibility of deprivation of property and its limitation, both provisions being entirely legal but not both compensable.
