Quantum Coherence in Mesoscopic Systems

Abstract

When talking about small systems in the context of quantum coherence in mesoscopic systems, we mean all those artificially prepared metal and semiconductor structures, in which transport properties exhibit the coherence of the electronic states between the leads [1]. A large variety of such systems has been realized over the past few years [2] and new techniques are currently developed [3,4] (Fig. 1).
