Abstract
The existence of persistent currents in a mesoscopic ring in presence of disorder was suggested by Biittiker, Imry and Landauer [1]. However a complete theoretical approach, easy in the case of one-dimensional (ID) system [2], is very difficult to extend to a real three-dimensional (3D) system with disorder and at finite temperature [3]. The direct observation of such currents would give very important informations for the understanding of such mesoscopic systems.
