Abstract

Calcium oxalate urolithiasis following jejuno-ileal bypass (JIB) in humans (1) is ascribed to surgery-induced enteric hyperoxaluria arising from enhanced intestinal-oxalate absorption. No data is currently available from rat studies. Therefore, we have evaluated urolithiasis-associated variables after JIB in this species.
