Abstract
Antibodies have been immobilized on polymers since the 1960s and numerous variations have been developed for commercially available immunodiagnostic tests. Several procedures of linking antibodies to polymers, interest in increasing the concentrations of linked antibodies to polymers, and interest in conserving the limited quantities of rare reagent exist. We have developed a partial denaturation procedure of linking anti-rabbit IgG to poly(styrene) that improved our antibody linking by 40 times. Utilization of these anti-rabbit IgG coated tubes in our polymer linked second antibody enzyme immunoassay produced highly specific, sensitive and accurate quantitative analytical procedures of detecting progesterone and testosterone rapidly.
