Abstract

Ion beams can be used to enhance the adhesion of metal films to polymer substrates. Typical doses range from 1011 to 1016/cm2 depending on materials, ion species, ion energies, etc. Recent progress in the understanding of radiation induced chemical and structural modifications, observed by various analytical techniques, is discussed.
