Abstract
In the event of outbreak of large scale war or series of wars in which even a small percentage of the nuclear weapons presently stockpiled by the major powers are unleashed, we may reasonably expect Man’s disappearance from the Earth. This could happen in a matter of just several more generations. If we believed that such destruction is to come about, then meetings of this sort----with such optimistic titles: Pollution: Engineering and Scientific Solutions----can only be viewed as excercises in futility.
