Abstract
Simply put, decoupled Drupal is the process of employing Drupal as a web service provider that exposes data for consumption by other applications (Figure 4-1). Drupal can be used to back other server-side applications, native desktop and mobile applications, single-page JavaScript applications, over-the-top applications, and IoT applications. Indeed, any application that can perform requests against a web service can be a consumer of the APIs exposed by a decoupled Drupal implementation.
