Abstract

As we have seen in these chapters, in many ways, decoupled Drupal has the potential to determine Drupal’s trajectory for many years to come. Its ability to expose Drupal content for a variety of consumers, without regard for how that consumer is built, is one of the key advantages of decoupled Drupal and, indeed, of API-first architectures in general. Drupal is not alone in this paradigm shift, as many other long-standing software projects such as WordPress entertain significant evolutions of their own.
