Abstract
Antibunching effect has been predicted1 in intracavity second harmonic generation (ISHG) and multi-atom optical bistability (MAOB). However, the predicted size of antibuching is very small and would be difficult to measure experimentally, as it occurs against a large coherent background. The predicted antibunching is of the order 10−8 – 10−6 for the ISHG, and 10−4 – 10−3 for the MAOB. Schemes based on interference2 or passive filter cavities1 have been proposed to enhance the antibunching effect.
