Abstract
Recently great interest has been paid to generation of Fock states of field (i.e. the eigenstates of the photon number operator). Various schemes have been proposed to obtain Fock states by the methods of cavity quantum electrodynamics1. In our report we show that the Fock state of the single-mode field can be generated via single-pass parametric interaction between pump and signal waves in a nonlinear medium2.
