Ammonoid Shell Microstructure

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Topics in Geobiology ((TGBI,volume 13))

Abstract

This chapter is not devoted to shell microstructure alone. In addition to presenting a description of the structure of the individual layers that compose the ammonoid shell, we also discuss the distribution and relationships of these layers to one another as well as their ultrastructure where possible.
