Abstract
This part of the Retrieval Guide in essence represents the computer memory search element of a retrieval system. Part B is arranged in 16 chapters, each chapter representing a specific property. Within each chapter substances are listed by their increasing sevendigit substance numbers, followed by physical state within each substance, subject area of the work, the language, the temperature range, and the year. The last column gives the TPRC serial number pertaining to the document retrieved. The sample code designations for the various search parameters need not be memorized since they are interpreted at the bottom of each page of this part of the volume.
