Abstract

Endometrial hyperplasia is the result of persistent, prolonged estrogenic stimulation of the endometrium. The commonest cause is a succession of anovulatory cycles, but hyperplasia may also result from excessive endogenously produced, or exogenously administered estrogens.

Contributions on scanning electron microscopy of endometrial hyperplasia are by A. J. White and H. J. Buchsbaum.
