Abstract

About ten years after the First Superstring Revolution, physics saw the upheavals of the Second Superstring Revolution. The shot that started the revolution was fired by Witten on March 14, 1995, when he spoke at the annual gathering of the string community. Witten, building on recent work by several physicists, instigated a change in how we view strings that was perhaps even more important than what Green and Schwarz had proposed a decade earlier.

Without the making of theories I am convinced there would be no observation.
