Abstract
REDE is a nonprofit, multidisciplinary agency committed to investigating human behavior and developing physical environments that will more effectively meet the human needs of their users. Evaluations are carried out of its own design work which highlight both negative and positive aspects of the work. It is hoped that these evaluations will have a demonstrable effect on future designs. In the case of the evaluation of Butterfield Hall, for example, many of the residents’ comments were negative in character, but REDE plans to use the information in future dormitory work.
