Abstract
The notion advanced at the Fifth Scientific and Technical Conference on Nuclear Radio Electronics in 1961 of creating a centralized facility for the measurement and registration of any and all spectrometric information in a special laboratory [1] has “come of age,” having begun to materialize into a manifest and feasible reality. Furthermore, both in the Soviet Union and in other countries we already find examples of such facilities that have been completed or are in the process of being built, in most cases on a computerized basis [2–11].
