Abstract

Wire cloth conveyors operate slowly. They are used in canneries and food-processing plants moving products through washing, sorting, blanching, scalding, cooking, and draining processes. They can be washed clean and made sanitary. Quick freezing of vegetables or fruits can be done on these conveyors while they pass through freezing chambers. Meat packing, including seafood, also is handled in this way. The wire cloth does not retain any small scraps, and is not affected by changes in temperature. Where food is involved, the cloth is made of stainless steel.
