Abstract
There has been a recent confluence of the stream of biorhythm or chronobiologic research and sleep research. There is clear evidence that, within sleep research, there has been an increasing response to the biorhythm approach. It will be my purpose to review this intersection of research, the findings relative to the aging of sleep and the conceptual implications for sleep viewed as a biorhythm. From my perspective, I am convinced that these conceptual implications far exceed, in ultimate value, the details of the particular findings.
