Abstract
I must have looked at my kitchen calendar a hundred times and read this saying often, without really grasping its meaning It was not until years later that I became aware of the symbolical meaning of the statement, when I started to work with dying patients and followed them from the day of admission to the hospital until the time of their death.
People are like stained glass windows; they sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within. Unknown Author
