Abstract
FOR a long time, philosophy has been concerned with the question: What is mind? The advances in psychology, neurology, and informatics, especially in the field of artificial intelligence, have resulted in the phenomenon of mind becoming an object of investigation using scientific disciplines of natural and structural sciences. Thus new philosophical and epistemological issues are raised and ancient questions are put forth in a new form, such as the relationship of mind to the material world.
