Abstract
Lymph nodes are small organs dispersed within the lymphoid system, connected to the remainder of the system by afferent and efferent lymphatic vessels and postcapillary venules. Contained within the capsule and stroma of each node are tissue macrophages, T and B lymphocytes, and other cells with immune functions. Lymph nodes serve as filters and processors of antigenic materials within the system.
