Abstract
The capability of one person to harm another, mentally or physically, has been present since the earliest days of mankind. The need for one person to harm another, rightly or wrongly, has appeared sporadically in varying degrees and numbers throughout history. The desire of one person to harm another is different in most of us but readily surfaces with the appropriate stimulus. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, the level of intensity of the stimulus—or even the need for one—decreased dramatically.
