Abstract

Chronic illness presents the family physician and the primary health care team with some of the greatest challenges to their ingenuity and the most searching tests of their skills. Long-term care encompasses features unique to the practice of family medicine and involves the artful application of scientific knowledge and clinical skills together with a caring attitude.
