Lymphoproliferative Diseases

  • Chapter
Pulmonary Pathology

Abstract

This chapter presents the lymphoreticular diseases affecting the lung, including primary and secondary lymphomas, leukemias, and a number of lesions that are generally considered benign and hyperplastic processes of lymphoid tissue. Many of these lesions, including pseudolymphoma and lymphocytic interstitial pneumonia, well-differentiated lymphocytic lymphomas of the lung, and lymphomatoid granulomatosis have been difficult for pathologists to classify.1–5 Lymphomatoid granulomatosis, with its synonyms,6,7 has been considered by some to be a peculiar vasculitis and by others a lymphoproliferative disorder.
