Eosinophilic Infiltrates

  • Chapter

Abstract

Eosinophilic infiltrates in the lung to be discussed in this chapter include asthma, eosinophilic pneumonia, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, mucoid impaction, and bronchocentric granulomatosis. These are often manifestations of immunologically mediated reactions confined to the lungs. The entities may frequently overlap with each other because of their often shared common eosinophilic cell response and symptoms of asthma, and, in some cases, common etiologies.
