Abstract
The amount of data transmitted either by wire or by air is ever increasing. Broadband internet connections are replacing the traditional 56K V.90 telephone modems. WLAN, Bluetooth and i-mode will find their place in the market in the near future, offering the consumer wireless networking. Together with these increased data rates, the demand for high-speed A/D converters and D/A converters has increased. Chapter 4 presented the systematic design of high-speed high-accuracy D/A converters as star IP. This chapter presents the systematic design of a high-speed, high-accuracy Nyquist-rate A/D converter as star IP. The converter is targeted to a WLAN application [DON 99]. A microphotograph of this application is shown in Fig. 5.1.
