Abstract
Now that you know something about the Internet and where it came from, we can introduce you to some of the applications that make access to the Internet so powerful. (The details are spelled out in Chapters 7 to 10.) Despite what your children may tell you, not everything is better on “The Net” and there really is life as we know it in homes and offices that are not connected. Only about 10% of North Americans surf the Web on a regular basis.
