Abstract
Like other organs, such as cardiovascular, renal, musculoskeletal, and pulmonary, bone marrow reserve function declines with advancing age. With normal healthy older people there is minimal or no functional decline, but abnormal laboratory or clinical findings occur under the stress of nutritional deficiencies or disease.
