Abstract
The performance of a CDMA cellular radio system can be improved by employing power control and error correction. This paper discusses the effects of adjacent accent cell interference, power control and error correction on the performance of the base-to-mobile link of a multiple- cell CDMA cellular radio system. The performance measures considered in this analysis are the average bit-error-rate (BER) and the service reliability.
A statistical approach is used to estimate values for particular performance measures for a mobile anywhere in its cell. In the analysis, the system is assumed to employ coherent BPSK modulation and direct sequence spreading and the received signals are assumed to suffer Rayleigh fading, log-normal shadowing and frequency selective fading.
