Abstract
This chapter presents three examples. The first example, using the sentence “I saw a man in the apartment with a telescope”, is intended to help the reader understand the algorithm more clearly. (Throughout this book, the shorter words, “park” and “scope”, will be occasionally used in stead of “apartment” and “telescope”, respectively, for purposes of convenience.) A reader who has not clearly understood the algorithm from chapter 2 should understand it here. Although we give a formal specification of the algorithm in chapter 4, it is provided mainly for proving correctness of the algorithm in appendix B, and is not intended to help the reader understand the algorithm.
