Abstract

A first NATO Advanced Study Institute on the subject of photon correlation methods was held in Capri in 1973. At that time these methods were still quite new and not many of the participants, apart from the lecturers, had access to the type of hardware needed to perform these experiments. The teaching was aimed accordingly, building the subject up from first principles. The situation is quite different at this School three years later. Many of you not only have photon correlators in your own laboratories but have made original contributions in the field. The Proceedings of Capri I will be found on your bookshelves and hopefully in many cases will have been well digested.
