Abstract
The narrative part of our development is being presented to give a factual account of how our system has evolved to its current state, and the types of problems and challenges that the staff and faculty faced at each juncture. This kind of information is necessarily anecdotal in nature, but I hope will be of value to those now beginning to venture into this area, and provide some yardstick by which to handle both the internal and external problems that must be anticipated in working with these large systems.
