Abstract
The subject of one dimensional electronic interactions in transition metal complexes has been treated in several other papers in this volume, with particular emphasis on systems which exhibit “metallic” properties. The main purpose of this paper is to develop the argument that transition metal complex semiconductors are also of significant scientific and technological interest and to encourage further work on such materials.
