Abstract

An earlier presentation to this conference dealt with general properties of human lymphoblastoic cell lines and their possible role in risk assessment. This paper will present a specific example of the use of lymphoblastoid cell lines to evaluate risk in patients receiving oral 8-methoxypsoralen (8-MOP) plus longwave ultraviolet radiation (UV-A) photochemotherapy. This experimental therapy has been given the acronym “PUVA.”
