Abstract
Composite video signals must be sampled at twice the highest frequency of the signal. To standardize this sampling, the ITU CCIR-601 (often known as ITU-R) has been devised. It defines three signal components: Y (for luminance), C r (for R – Y) and C b (for B – Y).
