Abstract
The following set of “sub-critical” tracking tasks are proposed as one portion of a future standardized battery of different types of task, each having graded levels of mental workload, against which various investigators could calibrate and validate their measures of workload against those made previously by other workers. This Appendix provides the recommended task description, mechanization (including controlled element, displays and controls), (optional) inputs, operating procedures and evaluation criteria so that measurements made in different locations can be validly compared.
