Abstract

Biodegradable polymer formulations which allow delivery of biologically active agents to a target organ or organism at controlled rates over a prolonged period of time have been developed and studied.1,2 These biodegradable controlled-release systems offer the distinct advantage that no residual polymer remains following release of the drug and degradation of the polymer.
