Spatial Coherence of Light Scattered by Liquid Crystals

Abstract

The study of spatial coherence of scattered light has received little attention until recently, because the short correlation length of fluctuations producing the scattering, made the scattering volume behave as a chaotic incoherent source. The coherence area of the scattered field was accordingly determined only by geometrical factors and gave no physical information upon the scattering medium.
