Experimental Studies of Transverse Effects in Superfluorescence

Abstract

We are currently conducting experiments to investigate transverse effects in superfluorescence (SF). These experiments are designed to clarify the conditions under which superradiant ringing (similar to Chiao-Burnham ringing(1)) can occur. In addition, these experiments will provide a test of the transverse coherence properties of superfluorescent pulses.(2)
