Abstract
The wetting of solids by liquid hydrogen Is of great Importance in space flight. Wetting effects determine the distribution of liquid hydrogen in a fuel tank under zero g, and also are involved in the prevention of vapor lock in lines from tank to pump. Questions of heat transfer, e.g., when nucleate or film boiling will start, are influenced by the wetting of solids by the liquid.
