Abstract

This law, discovered by Gouldberg in 1867, has a functional significance in the analyses of supergeneprocesses. Let us assume that the following chemical reaction is taking place in a dilute aqueous solution:

$$nB+mC\rightleftarrows kR+lS$$

where B, C, R, and S are participating substances (molecules or ions), and n, m, k, and 1 are their stoichiometric quantities.
